How to Use Headphones or Audio Out on a KTC Monitor

Using headphones or audio out on a KTC display may depend on the audio connection, the source device output, and the display's own sound settings. Check the parts that match your setup. If these steps do not fit your screen, use the model links below for exact instructions.

What to check

Check the audio connection

Many monitors with audio output use a dedicated headphone or audio-out port.

Check this:

  1. Connect the headphones or speakers to the monitor audio-out port.
  2. Make sure the plug is fully inserted.
  3. Raise the monitor volume if needed.
  4. Test audio again from the source device.

If the plug is not fully seated, the monitor may appear connected but still produce no sound.

Check the source device audio output

The source device must usually send audio over HDMI, DP, or USB-C before the monitor can pass it out.

Check this:

  1. Check the audio output setting on the source device.
  2. Choose the monitor or connected display audio path if needed.
  3. Reconnect the cable if the monitor is not shown as an audio option.
  4. Test the audio again.

A monitor audio port does not create sound on its own if the source device is not sending audio to it.

Check the display audio settings

Smart-display products may choose audio output from a system menu.

Check this:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Sound, Audio, or output-related settings.
  3. Choose the active output path if more than one option is available.
  4. Raise the volume and test again.

Built-in speakers, headphones, Bluetooth audio, and HDMI input audio can sometimes use different paths.

If the steps above do not match your screen

Before going to the model list, try these quick checks:

  • confirm that the model actually supports headphone or audio out
  • check that the source device is sending audio to the display
  • raise the display volume and turn off mute
  • test another pair of headphones or speakers if available
