2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Set it up within range of that network before final outdoor mounting. - A microSD card of up to
128GBis supported. Insert it in the marked slot and close the silicone cover. - Press and hold the power button for about

What Comes in the Box?
The package includes the Bird Feeder Camera, perch, mounting bracket, mounting screws and driver, black strap, Type-C power cable, positioning stickers, and quick guide. The solar-panel version also includes solar charging parts. Accessories can vary by package, so check the contents against your order before installation. Keep small parts away from children and pets.
How Do I Prepare the Camera?
- Charge the camera fully with the supplied Type-C cable and a suitable
DC 5V / 1.5Aadapter. - If you use local storage, rotate the camera down, open the silicone cover, insert a microSD card up to
128GBin the correct direction, and reseal the cover. - Align the perch tabs with the two front holes on the feeder body and press the perch into place.
- Keep the lens out of direct sunlight while choosing the final location.
Do the first power-on and app setup near your Wi-Fi before installing the feeder on a wall, tree, or pole.
How Do I Turn the Camera On and Connect It to Wi-Fi?
- Press and hold the power button for about
3 seconds. The status light should turn blue when the camera is working. - Download the VicoHome app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Use a
2.4GHzWi-Fi network and follow the app's first-time camera setup prompts. - Double-click the power button to enter network configuration mode after the prompt tone when the app asks you to do so.
- Confirm that live video works before moving the camera outdoors.
Strong light can interfere with scanning a setup QR code. Keep the camera within Wi-Fi range and away from obstructions or devices such as a microwave during pairing.
How Do I Mount the Feeder?
Choose one of three mounting methods:
| Location | Mounting method |
|---|---|
| Wall | Use the positioning stickers, drill and anchors, then fasten the mounting bracket. |
| Tree | Wrap the black strap around the tree and mounting bracket, then secure the feeder. |
| Mailbox pole | Use the bracket's sleeve opening on a prepared pole up to 25 mm in diameter, then tighten the feeder mounting screw. |
For every method, align the recess under the feeder with the protrusion on the mounting bracket, set the angle, and tighten the bracket's bottom screw. Check that the support is stable before filling the feeder. Avoid placing it outside Wi-Fi coverage or where the camera lens faces strong direct sun.
How Do I Install the Solar Charger?
For the solar-panel version, use the supplied panel and bracket parts. Choose a position near the feeder with useful sunlight and route its wire so it is not pinched. Open the solar-charger brackets no more than 90 degrees; forcing them farther can damage the parts. After selecting the orientation, attach the charger with the supplied 1/4-20 screws and confirm that its cable reaches the camera without strain.
The solar charger supplements charging. Check the camera's battery and charging status in use rather than assuming outdoor light will always keep it charged.
How Do I Add Seed and Keep the Feeder Clean?
Open the feeder cover, add suitable bird food, and close the cover securely. Keep seed and debris away from the lens, microphone, charging connector, and card-slot cover. Check the feeder and mounting hardware regularly. If the unit needs cleaning, turn it off first and avoid soaking the camera; its IP65 rating does not mean it can be submerged.
What Does the Status Light Mean?
| Status light | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Solid blue | Working |
| Solid yellow | Charging |
| Solid green | Charging finished |
| Off | Sleeping or powered off |
If the light does not match what you expect, check whether the camera is charging, sleeping, or turned off before resetting network setup.
How Does Bird Recognition Work?
The camera and app offer bird recognition, notifications, and saved bird images or video. Set up the camera and app first, then use the available identification and recording controls. Recognition and notifications depend on an operating camera, usable network connection, and the app's current features.
Troubleshooting Bird Feeder Camera Problems
The camera will not turn on
Charge it fully with the specified Type-C charging setup, check the cable and adapter, then hold the power button for about 3 seconds. Watch for a status light. If the light remains off, contact our support team with the charging equipment and camera status.
The app cannot add the camera
Confirm that the phone and camera are using a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network in coverage. Move closer to the router for first setup, reduce glare when scanning a QR code, then double-click the power button to enter network configuration mode when prompted. Verify live video before outdoor mounting.
Video stops after the feeder is mounted
Check the camera's charge and whether the location is still within Wi-Fi coverage. If needed, temporarily bring it back near the router to compare. Inspect the solar charging connection and the status light before changing the mounting location.
The microSD card is not available
Turn the camera off, remove and reinsert a compatible card up to 128GB in the correct orientation, and reseal the silicone cover. Check the app's storage status after powering on again.
